Fabulous Fylde

The flat, fabulous Fylde coastline stretches for 11 miles.  A 24 hr saver travel ticket for £5 is the perfect way to explore.  Hop on and off buses and trams as you please.

Where’s this?

Snow-topped mountains
River rushing seaward
Remote sandy and shingle beach

River Wyre at Fleetwood

River Wyre
empties into Morecambe Bay
Lake District, Bowland Fells
and Yorkshire Dales
just a pebble’s throw away

What’s this oddity
tumbling onto the beach?

Rossall Point Observation Tower

Rossall Point
Observation Tower

Standing 42 feet
a marvellous vantage point
Admire the view,
watch birdlife, sealife, wildlife
hat to friendly, knowledgeable rangers

Another oddity?

Ferry Boat sailing out of Fleetwood
an, wearing a riddle on his back?

Been cockling

Half-way mark
Tuck into Kay’s fish and chips
Admire Cleveley’s new promenade
and sea defences

Cleveleys new sea defence

Onward – southward

Legs getting tired
Keep walking
Too nice to catch a tram

Fishing fraternity out in force
along Blackpool’s north promenade

Set up for all weathers

End of the line

North Pier Blackpool

A wonderful 8 mile walk
Legs dictate
time to hop on a tram
and head for home

  1. Your dogs must be barking! As for ‘Rossall Point Observation Tower’ I thought it was an old dishwasher or some such fly tipped white good! Until I clicked on the link and saw it in it’s full beauty. Studio Three Architects Liverpool are the designers.
